The YouTube data importers have been updated recently. We have created a new tutorial that explains how you can create YouTube Video networks here: https://www.smrfoundation.org/nodexl/tutorials/exploring-youtube-video-networks/
You can find the tweet texts in the Tweet column (Q) on the edges spreadsheet.November 24, 2020 at 10:13 am in reply to: How do I control the placement of nodes in the network image? #9253
You can control the layout order via Show/Hide > Workbook columns > Layout > Layout order in column L of the vertices spreadsheet.
You can also lock the vertices in the graph pane by clicking on the lock symbol on the top right of the graph pane.
Hi! Sadly, that does not work. Would be very nice though. We will look into it!
Sorry, we missed that. If you would like an updated network map please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Facebook has removed API access for almost every reasearch software on September 5, 2019. Please take look at this post.
This seems to be a bug, we need to solve. Upgrading to NodeXL Pro will not solve the issue.
Thank you for pointing this out.
This seems to be a rare problem. Please request NodeXL Tech Support on this page.
NodeXL can be installed on Windows operating systems only. Mac users need to install a Virtual Machine. Please take a look at this page.May 27, 2020 at 4:52 am in reply to: [COMException]: PivotFields method of PivotTable class failed #8974
This feature is invoked during the creation of the Time Series analysis spreadsheet. Pivot Tables appeared in Office 2010 and later.
If you are using Office 2007 you can turn this off in NodeXL> Graph> Automate> Time Series (uncheck).
Also please check if your settings are correct under NodeXL> Analysis> Graph Metrics> Time Series.
If you cannot solve the problem, feel free to request Tech Support on this page.
There may be several reasons why this error message shows up. PLease take a look at this page https://www.smrfoundation.org/faq/object-reference-not-set-to-an-instance-of-an-object-what-does-that-mean/.
If this does not help, feel free to request tech support here.May 27, 2020 at 3:30 am in reply to: Problem installing: File, Update.jpg, has a different computed hash #8970
An antivirus software or firewall is blocking NodeXL from downloading the required files.
Solution 1: Add an exception for http://www.nodexlgraphgallery.org to your antivirus/firewall.
Solution 2: Try a different internet connection.
If you run into any other issue, please have a look at this page: https://www.smrfoundation.org/nodexl/installation/
The second option adds the edge type “Follows” to the Edges worksheet in your dataset. It will get the followers from all users that are detected in your search query. The API will usually return the most recent followers first.
This option can easily max out the capacities of NodeXL and Excel. And it will take a long time to download the data. You can of course limit the number of followers to be collected, but still you might end up with more than a million edges e.g. if there are 1000 users in your network with an average of 1000 followers. That is way too much to handle for NodeXL.
There may be special use cases for this option, e.g. download data, export as .gexf and then analyze in Gephi. But we generally recommend to not use this option.
