New ways to import networks into NodeXL!
New NodeXL Data Importer

Our newest feature, Import from file..., will allow the many archives of Tweets and posts from Reddit found on the web to be converted to networks and analyzed in NodeXL.

Using the new NodeXL Pro > Data > Import > Import from File... option enables users to take collections of messages and convert them into collections of connections.  Many places on the web have archives of Tweets from over a decade of research and analysis.  Until now, these files were not ready for network analysis.  Typically, message archives contain data in the format:

date/time, author name, message text

In contrast, a network data set must minimally have two columns with the name of the sender and the receiver.  This makes most archives of social media data incompatible with network analysis unless the file is transformed into something like:

date/time, author name, receiver name, message text

Using the new Import from file... feature in NodeXL (version 529 and later) you can now access a wide range of data sets that can be imported and converted for network analysis - with no software development or programming required!
