New Twitter data recipe – vertex color by language

A new layer of information is added to a Twitter network map when coloring the vertices by account language. This approach may reveal regional clusters of Twitter users and works very well when visualizing networks around search terms with international reach.

The attached network map is based on tweets by members of the European Parliament (https://twitter.com/Europarl_EN/lists/all-meps-on-twitter). The most frequently used hashtags are shown at the top of each group’s box which help to identify the dominant language in a cluster. The tweet language can also by shown in the map by selecting “Top Language” in Autofill Columns > Groups.
